At referendum on 18th September 2014 the Billesdon neighbourhodo Plan received a 'yes' vote. Harborough District Council has published its decision to 'make' the Billesdon Neighbourhood Plan.

Referendum Results

The referendum held on 18th September 2014 met the requirements of the Localism Act 2011; it was held in the Parish of Billesdon and posed the question:

‘Do you want Harborough District Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Billesdon to help it decide planning applications in the Neighbourhood area?’

The count took place on Thursday 18th September 2014 and greater than 50% of those who voted were in favour of the Plan being used to help decide planning applications in the plan area.

Examination

Billesdon Neighbourhood Plan was submitted to Harborough District Council by the Qualifying Body on 27 November 2013.

The  Regulation 16 consultation took place between 9 December 2013 to 24 January 2014

Examination

An Independant Examiner, Janet Cheesley, was appointed by Harborough District Council in March 2014 to examine the Billesdon Neighbourhood Plan. The Examination was held without a public hearing and the final Examiners Report was received in May 2014

At its meeting on 21 July 2014 the Council agreed that the Examiners recommended modifications should be accepted and that the amended Neighbourhood Plan should proceed to referendum.

Approval of Neighbourhood Area

Billesdon Parish Council, as the Qualifying Body, submitted a Frontrunner Bid to Harborough District Council to designate Billesdon Neighbourhood Area on 1 November 2011.

The Billesdon Neighbourhood Area was approved by the Portfolio Holder on 29 October 2012.
