Environmental services contract consultation report and responses
In July 2015, we asked residents to share their views as we look to save up to £1.4million per year from our environmental service contract which includes bin collections, recycling, street cleaning and grounds maintenance.
Less money from selling recycled materials, and the end of recycling incentives from the county council, as well as reduced Government funding to local authorities, has resulted in the need to make major savings.
Consultation forms on the future of the environmental services were sent to every home in the district and also completed by the public online via the council’s website.
Over 8,000 responses were received, equating to 21 per cent of all households in Harborough district.
