Answer:
In most cases rooflights are allowable without planning permission under Class C of the Town and Country Planning General Permitted Development (Amendment) (No.2) (England) Order 2008, subject to compliance with the criteria and conditions set out in Class C.
Contact the planning duty officer 01858 828282 (9.30am to 1pm weekdays) as consent may be required in some cases. For example if planning conditions restrict permitted development rights. Building Regulations may also be required.
