The Freedom of Information Act 2000 and Environmental Information Regulations 2004 give a general right of access to all types of recorded information held by public authorities, sets out exemptions from that right and places a number of obligations on public authorities.

Any person who makes a written request to Harborough District Council for information, subject to exemptions and potential fees, must be informed whether the Council holds that information and be supplied with that information.

Information which is already available is listed in the Council's Publication Scheme.   Requests for information not already available should be made in writing to the Freedom of Information Officer, Harborough District Council, Council Offices, Adam and Eve Street, Market Harborough, Leicestershire, LE16 7AG or by email to It is also possible to apply online.

You do not need to specify if your request is submitted under the Freedom of Information Act or Environmental Information Regulations as the Council will determine the appropriate legislation and this will be confirmed to you in our acknowledgement.
