You decide what to grow!

You know what chemicals, if any, are used!

You control when and how it is harvested!

You know it's fresh!

You can grow unusual fruit or vegetables which may not be easily obtained locally.

Growing your own cuts down on use of transport and is more environmentally friendly

Keeping an allotment will help protect that allotment for use by future generations.

Whatever turns you on to allotments... the biggest benefit of all is the taste of REAL fruit and veg.

All sites managed by Harborough District Council operate a reduced rate of 50% for OAPs.

To enable more availability of plots Harborough District Council has a policy of reducing the size of larger plots as and when they become available. This means that the number of plots at any one site may increase allowing more people to experience the benefits of the allotment.

A waiting list is in operation for all of our allotment sites.
