Adopted local planning documents form the basis for all planning decisions. We are replacing the 2001 Local Plan with a programme of new documents set out in a Local Development Scheme. We have recently adopted a Core Strategy and are now preparing a new Site Allocation document. Adopted Core Strategy

The Core Strategy is the key part of Harborough District's Local Development Framework. It provides the planning strategy for Harborough District to 2028. It was adopted on 14 November 2011.

Harborough District Local Plan

The District Local Plan was adopted in April 2001. Many of its policies have been replaced with the adoption of the Core Strategy, but site specific policies still remain valid until replaced by the Allocations Plan.

The Council is now preparing an Allocations Plan to set out residential, employment, commercial and leisure site allocations within the district, directed by the Core Strategy.
