An animal boarding establishment is a business that provides accommodation for other people’s dogs or cats.

Find out more about the licences for an animal boarding establishment.

Apply for an animal boarding establishment licence (ODT, 25KB). The fee for an animal boarding establishment licence is £135.

Read a guide to what areas we will assess before deciding on your licence.

The number of dogs and cats that may be accommodated will be specified on the licence along with other specific conditions.

You will be able to act as though your application is granted if you have not heard from us after 45 days.

An animal boarding establishment licence needs to be renewed every year.

You must let us know about any changes to your licence.
