How to log an enforcement complaint
What information is needed to make a complaint
- Full Address / Location of the alleged breach
- Description of the breach
- Name of the person responsible for the breach (if known)
- Address of the person responsible for the breach (if known)
Your Contact Details. All enforcement complaints are treated in confidence, but we will contact you to gather further information and to discuss concerns. We do not accept anonymous complaints, this is in order to ensure that complaints are not malicious, therefore we will also require:
- Your Name
- Your Address
- A Contact Number / email address
How can I make a complaint
There are a number of ways to log a planning enforcement complaint.
You can:

Once your complaint has been received by the council, you can expect to receive an acknowledgement within three working days of receiving the complaint.
After the complaint is logged, one of our officers will attempt to carry out a site visit and make an initial investigation within 10 days.
Following this, the case officer dealing with the alleged breach may need to contact you for further information and to discuss your concerns.
