Market Harborough’s Food & Drink Festival promises to be even bigger and better when it returns to the town on Sunday 28 August and Monday 29 August 2016.

Food and drink festival

Following on from 2016's success, the two day festival is once again being organized by Market Place, the UK’s leading operator of Continental and special event markets, and operator of Harborough Indoor Market. The event will be held in Welland Park, on Welland Park Road, Market Harborough, 11am to 7pm, over the Bank Holiday weekend and is aiming to showcase the very best of the regions producers.

There will be local, national and international cuisine on offer; featuring French tarts, gourmet flatbreads, cider and beer brewed in the region, local meat, award-winning pies, fudge, chutney and cheese in abundance.

Street food traders will offer an exciting array of European, Asian, Indian and Caribbean foods. Stalls will showcase a fabulous array of sweet treats from indulgent chocolate, to pancakes, waffles and a fabulous patisserie.

Some of the highlights to look out for are French favourites such as Tartiflette and Moules au Roquefort and from Ma Cuisine Francais, Southern style BBQ from Rolling Smoke, Stone baked Neapolitan pizzas from Wood Fired Kitchen, Mexican street food from Baja-Cantina, vegan and veggie goodies from local favourites Farrinheight Foods, mouth-wateringly tempting Alcoholic ice creams such as Gin and Lem’On Cheese Cake from Melt’On Luxury Alcoholic Ice Creams plus much, much more. There really is something from everyone.

And for foodies looking to pick up some recipe tips, there will be a fantastic line up of chefs in the demo kitchen cooking up a treat over the two days.

There’s a fun dog show on Sunday with registration at 12pm with all proceeds going to Wet Nose Animal Aid, sponsored by Husse Leicester who trade at Harborough Indoor Market on Tuesday and Saturday.

Market Place Market Manager and the event organiser, Sairah Butt said: “After the great success of last year’s event, we’ve been working hard to make sure this year’s festival is just as popular. It’s great to have something to do over the bank holiday weekend that is free to attend. We have a wonderful line up of tempting food stalls, two great licensed bars, a kids play area and of course the celebrity demo kitchen; it should be a cracking event and well worth travelling to.”

So, make a note in your diary and get ready for a fun filled foodie August Bank Holiday.
