Speaking at committee meetings on agenda

Published Friday 10 November 2017

A review of the council’s procedure for public speaking at planning committee meetings will be considered by councillors.

The review of the council’s existing procedures will be considered at a meeting of Harborough District Council’s Constitutional Review Committee on Tuesday 14 November 2017.

The current public speaking procedure allows for an unlimited number of speakers which can result in delays and an imbalance of representations on planning applications.

Councillors will consider if the proposals set out in the report will ensure that all planning items are dealt with more efficiently by the Planning Committee and it will bring the council’s procedures more in line with those adopted by other local authorities .
