Drugs and Alcohol advice

One of the Community Safety Partnerships roles is to raise awareness of the organisations available to help with support and treatment for those suffering problems with drugs and alcohol.

Here in Leicestershire the Leicestershire Community Projects Trust (LCPT), a Voluntary Sector Organisation, is committed to serving the community and minimising the harm that misuse of drugs and alcohol can do. The Trust is working with thousands of people a year helping to change their lives.

The Drug and Alcohol Advice Centres provides advice, information and support to people worried about their own drugs or alcohol use, or affected by someone else's.

Their Under 18s Team, known as New Directions works with young people and adults under the age of 18, to reduce risks from drug and alcohol use. The team provides information, advice and support to any young people concerned about their own substance use. The team also offers advice to professionals who work with young people and young adults, as well as concerned family and friends. For telephone advice or to make an appointment/referral please call on 0116 222 9559

Drugs don't just affect the person using them; they can also have a harmful effect on the lives of those close to the drug user too. The LCPT provides information, advice referral and support services to drug users and their families
