Planning Online

The Council's online planning information service provides details of current planning applications. You can follow the progress of an application, make a comment, search a weekly list of applications and decisions, view historic applications and view property details including maps. Using the associated documents tool you will be able to view application drawings and attachments.

The service enables users to search for planning applications by a variety of methods, including by the Council's unique reference number for the application which is quoted on all application related notices and correspondence, by address or location and by the date submitted (or a range of dates).  It is also possible to identify planning applications by identifying an area of interest on an online map.

The service has a 'real time' link to the Council's 'back office' planning application processing system which gives users access to up to date information regarding the status of planning applications.  However, users should be aware that planning applications will only become visible online once they have been registered as valid applications.  Users should also be aware that although textual information is updated immediately there may be a delay in the the scanned images of the application forms and plans being available online as these have to be separately scanned and indexed into the Council's document management system. 

Under normal circumstances the plans and documents associated with new planning applications will be able to be viewed within 3 working days of receipt of the application. If none are displayed at the time, you may wish to try a few days later or alternatively you will be able to view the application and associated documents in person at the Council Offices, Adam and Eve Street, Market Harborough Mondays to Fridays during normal office hours (tel. 01858 828282).   Applications received in the western part of the district are also available for inspection at the Lutterworth Service Shop, 19 - 21 Market Street, Lutterworth (tel. 01455 550500) on Wednesday afternoons and all day Thursdays and Fridays.

In addition to information regarding new planning applications users are also able to view details of planning appeals and planning enforcement enquiries.
