Our Commitment to you

Anti Social Behaviour - Minimum Standards

Anti-Social Behaviour is unacceptable.  These standards are our commitment to you and set out what you can expect from Harborough District Council, Leicestershire Police and other partner organisations that are jointly responsible for dealing with anti social behaviour in your community.

For help and advice in relation to anti-social behaviour contact 01858 828282 Harborough District Council  or Leicestershire Constabulary  0116 2222222.

We will:

  • Inform your community on what is being done to deal with anti-social behaviour in your area.
  • Take your reports of anti-social behaviour seriously.
  • Respond on a priority basis considering an assessment of risk, any repeat incidents and vulnerability.  We will tell what we will do next.
  • Respond to complaints that are assessed as a high priority within 24 hours /1  working day.
  • Keep you informed of progress on actions at least within 10 working days of your report.. Provide you with a named contact to ensure you can remain in touch about any concerns you may have.
  • Work with victims of anti-social behaviour to identify and provide the support they need.
  • Maintain strong links and coordination between the Harborough District Council, neighbourhood policing teams and other local partner services to ensure that anti-social behaviour is dealt with effectively.
  • Publish the specific service standards that you can expect from those responsible for environmental or enforcement issues such as the removal of graffiti, fly-tipping, noise nuisance and dog fouling on the website for your local council/community safety partnership.  http://www.harborough.gov.uk/

We want to do our best for you but if we fail to meet our standards we will always explain why it has not been possible on that occasion to deliver the high standards to which we aspire and you deserve. 

If you feel agencies have not taken effective action to resolve anti-social behaviour in your community and the matter cannot be resolved through their normal complaints procedure or the Community Call for Action you can complain, to the Chief Executive, Harborough District Council, Adam & Eve Street, Market Harborough, Leicestershire, LE16 7AG 01858 828282 or  by e- mail on customerservices@harborough.gov.uk
