How to report Drugs and Alcohol litter finds
Please complete all the fields on the form below as accurate as is possible including the postcode. In order for the finds to be collated and used in a meaningful manner, a postcode is essential to provide a geographical map of 'hotspots' within the district. This information will be used by Harborough Crime and Disorder reduction Partnership (includes Harborough District Council, Leicestershire Police, Drug Action Teams, Youth Offending Team, Leicestershire, Fire and Rescue, Connexions and local schools) to help identity the hot spots for drinking and drug use within the district.
This information which is collected by you will be used to identify the hot spots and what remedial actions will be taken by the Partnership.
Previous actions which have been taken through the collection of this information are:
Increased PCSO and police patrolling within the hot spot areas
Increased security to the area i.e. improving lighting and making areas more secure
Cutting back foliage
Targeted youth diversionary activities
Enhanced work with County Youth Service and Youth Offending Team
The data collected will help influence the county's Drug Alcohol Action Team (DAAT) to identify patterns and trends in drug and alcohol misuse, and also highlight changes in drug supplies within the county and district.
If you find a needle or 'sharp' please do not attempt to pick it up or dispose of it yourself.
