Easter opening hours - County Hall Reception will be closed Friday 29 March to Monday 1 April, re-opening as normal Tuesday 2 April.

Pay a parking fine

Parking fines, also known as Penalty Charge Notices (PCN) are issued to vehicles parked illegally.

There are 2 levels of charges for parking fines:

  • £50 for lower level contraventions such as parking for longer than restrictions permit
  • £70 for higher level contraventions such as parking on double yellow lines or parking in a taxi rank

The parking fine is reduced by 50% if it is paid within 14 days.

If the parking fine is not paid within 28 days and there is no challenge then the owner of a vehicle is liable for the penalty charge notice, even if they were not driving the vehicle when the parking fine was issued.

Making payment

Payment of the parking fine will close the case and there will be no further correspondence.
