Online forms: Provide notice for consent to demolish a building

This notice must be completed and copies sent, by you, to the following, 6 weeks before demolition starts:

  • The occupiers of buildings next to that to be demolished
  • Gas company
  • Electric company
  • Sewerage and water company

When you complete this form you will be asked to enter your email address to receive an electronic copy of the form that you can provide to these indivduals and companies.

We will then arrange for the conditions (a Section 81 Notice) to be sent to you. You must not start demolition work until you receive the conditions from us or until the 6 weeks expires - whichever is the earlier.

How we will use your information

The Council is collecting your information in order to assist the delivery and provision of services to you. The information you have supplied will be used for the purposes of this Building Regulation application.

Your information may be shared with other Council departments or partners such as Leicester Fire & Rescue, Anglian Water/Severn Trent and any organisation appointed by the Council to assist in the Building Regulations process, e.g. consultant engineers. Your information will be held in accordance with the Council’s Document Retention and Disposal Policy and we will only ask you for as much information as is required to respond to your enquiry or service need.
