Garden Waste Collection Service
Garden waste bin
Please note that we will only empty garden waste bins from households that have opted-in to the garden waste collection service. There's more information in the garden waste service terms and conditions.
We do not remove garden waste bins from properties that choose not to subscribe to the new service. Harborough District residents can subscribe to the service at any time in the future so we recommend keeping your garden waste bin. If you move house the new owner may want to subscribe to the service and in future we may have to charge for new garden waste bins to be delivered to properties.
If you subscribe to the service and move to a new property in the Harborough District, your subscription will continue at your new address.
If you subscribe to the service and move home to a new property outside of the Harborough District, you will not be able to receive any refund on the subscription fee you have paid. Collections will continue to be made at the house you moved out of until that year’s subscription comes to an end.
Replacement for missing or damaged bin
A charge will usually be made to collect an unwanted bin, replace lost, missing or damaged bins. If a bin has been damaged during collection a charge will not be made for a replacement bin. A list of our charges is published on the Fees for our services page.
Please ensure that your bin is numbered/named upon delivery to help prevent it from being stolen.
Help with collections
We can help with bin collections for residents who are elderly, infirm or disabled and have no one else at the property to help.
Different size of bin
It may be possible to request a second garden waste bin (240 litre size) or to exchange your current bin (240 litre size) for a smaller bin (140 litre size). However, if you require additional capacity, you will need to sign-up for an additional bin.
Issues with your garden waste collection service
