Local Plan – Council responds to Inspector

Published Thursday 23 August 2018

Harborough District Council has submitted its responses to the Planning Inspector’s initial observations regarding the proposed Harborough Local Plan.

Planning Inspector Jonathan Bore presented his initial questions and comments to Harborough District Council in July which the Council published on its website.

The Council’s responses have now been submitted and are available to view on the Harborough District Council website at www.harborough.gov.uk/local-plan-examination

‘Matters and Issues’, relating to the proposed Local Plan’s ‘soundness’, have also been submitted by the Planning Inspector. These can also be viewed on the Local Plan examination webpage and a response to these will be published by the Council in the coming weeks.

Once adopted, the new Local Plan will set out planning policies in the Harborough district up to 2031. It will make sure development meets strategic priorities for housing, employment, community facilities, transport and other infrastructure needed to support development.

In October 2018, a number of informal debates – known as ‘hearing sessions’ – on any relevant matters identified by the Inspector will take place in the Council Chamber at The Symington Building in Market Harborough.
