Local businesses invited to free sustainability events during Great Big Green Week
Published Wednesday 27 May 2026Businesses across the Harborough district are invited to take part in three free events organised by Harborough District Council as part of Great Big Green Week (6 to 14 June 2026).
The programme of events features a practical sustainability workshop alongside two outdoor 'netwalking' events. These sessions are designed to help local enterprises connect and explore sustainability in a more informal setting. 'Netwalking' combines business networking with guided outdoor walks, including complimentary coffee on arrival.
The 'Profit From Sustainability' workshop will take place on the morning of Tuesday 9 June 2026 in The Symington Building, Market Harborough. Attendees will hear from expert speakers covering sustainable growth, digital efficiency, carbon reduction and practical ways to strengthen long-term resilience. Lunch and networking opportunities will also be provided.
Two additional 'netwalking' events will take place on Wednesday 10 June 2026 at Bittesby Country Park near Magna Park, and on Friday 12 June 2026 in Great Bowden.
Councillor Phil King, Portfolio Holder for Business & Tourism, said: "Supporting local businesses is a key priority for the council. These events are an opportunity for businesses to access practical advice, build new connections and explore ideas which could help reduce costs and strengthen long-term resilience. They also showcase some of the really positive environmental and business support work taking place across the Harborough district."
All events are free to attend and are open to businesses operating in or registered within the Harborough district.
