An opportunity has arisen to run a café in an attractive and popular park in a town regularly described as one of the “jewels of the East Midlands”.

Harborough District Council is looking for new operators to run the café at Welland Park in Market Harborough

The facility, owned by the council, is situated in the largest recreation ground in Market Harborough, close to the town centre.

The park offers activities and attractions including the Millennium Mile pathway, bowling greens, play areas, tennis courts, outdoor gym, gardens, skate park, rugby posts, table tennis and separate dog-walking area.

Park-runs, which have proved hugely popular across the country, have also started in the park.

The café boasts an inside seating area for twenty people, counter area, separate kitchen, office and store. There is further outside seating overlooking the attractive park, and a large lawn in front of the premises.

The facility is on the market to rent at £8,000 per year.

Market Harborough has recently been named as one of the top 15 market towns in the country according to The Times newspaper. The town is also the current East Midlands in Bloom champion in the large town category.
