Parking Information in Market Harborough and Lutterworth

The majority of car parks in Harborough District Council are either owned or operated by Harborough District Council (HDC).  Car parks are patrolled by HDC employed Civil Enforcement Officers to ensure that drivers park as safely as possible and in accordance with the regulations in place and clearly sign-posted in each car park. 

There are a number of Leicestershire County Council free, time limited parking bays on street in the district, which are clearly marked and are also patrolled by the same HDC Civil Enforcement Officers.  Anyone who is parked in contravention of the marked regulations in the car parks or on-street may be issued with a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) or fine by the Civil Enforcement Officers.

Parking issues relating to residential parking or parking on the public highway are not the responsibility of Harborough District Council, and whilst we will do all we can to help you, decisions affecting these areas are the responsibility of the Highways Authority which, in this area, is Leicestershire County Council.
