Statement of Accounts 2020/21
The draft Statement of Accounts for 2020/21 would normally be published by 31 May 2021, with a period of public inspection including the first 10 working days of June.
However, the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) have put in place revised regulations that extend the statutory audit deadlines for 2020/21 and 2021/22 for local authorities (The Accounts and Audit (Amendment) Regulations 2021). The requirement for the public inspection period to include the first ten working days in June has been removed, instead local authorities must commence the public inspection period on or before the first working day of August 2021. This means that draft accounts must be approved by the responsible finance officer and be published by 31 July 2021. The publication date for audited accounts has moved from 31 July to 30 September 2021 for all local authority bodies.
Harborough District Council has published its unaudited Statement of Accounts on Friday 28 May 2021. The period for the exercise of public rights will then commence at 9am on Tuesday 1 June 2021 and conclude at 4pm on Monday 14 June 2021.
Details of its availability are contained in the Public Inspection Notice.
