Referendum

The referendum date has been confirmed as 26 January 2017, and in accordance with Regulation 19 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012 the following documents are now made available. Following a positive referendum result Harborough District Council is publishing its decision to 'make' the Foxton Neighbourhood Development Plan part of Harborough District Councils Development Plan in accordance with Regulation 19 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012.

Referendum Results

Foxton Referendum Result

The referendum held on 26th January 2017 met the requirements of the Localism Act 2011; it was held in the Parish of Foxton and posed the question:

'Do you want Harborough District Council to use the Neighbourhood Plan for Foxton to help it decide planning applications in the Neighbourhood area?'

The count took place on 26th January 2017 and greater than 50% of those who voted were in favour of the Plan being used to help decide planning applications in the plan area. The results of the referendum were:

Examination

Foxton Neighbourhood Plan was submitted for Examination on 6 June 2016 and underwent the regulation 16 consultation between 4 July 2016 and 15 August 2016. A Neighbourhood Plan Examiner was appointed at the end of September 2016 and the examination report is expected by end of October 2016.

Foxton Neighbourhood Plan Examination was completed on 18 November 2016, and the Qualifying Body approved the Examiners recommendation for amendments to the Plan on 23 November 2016. The Examiners Report and recommended amendments was reported to Executive in 5 December 2016, and approval was given to proceed to Referendum.

Approval of Neighbourhood Area

Foxton Parish Council, as the relevant body, applied for the designation of the Foxton Neighbourhood Area. The application was publicised during July/August 2012 and was approved by Executive on 29 October 2012.

Pre-submission Consultation

The pre-submission consultation for Foxton Neighbourhood Plan was completed by the community between 2nd February 2016 and 21st March 2016.
