There are two types of variations which are listed below:

• Minor variation - these are minor amendments to a licence for example adding a new horse to a hiring out horses licence 
• Major variation - these are major amendmetns to a licence which will require an officer inspection such as structual changes to design and layout of a premises which may impact upon facilities
