Air quality

We have to assess air quality against the requirements of the national Air Quality Strategy. Air Quality is continually reviewed and assessed on a yearly basis.

We produce air quality reports outlining the monitoring that has been undertaken in the district and if anything is likely to impact air quality within an area of the district that is not currently being monitored.  View all air quality review and assessment documents including the most recently published Air Quality Annual Status Report.

The main method of air quality monitoring we use is nitrogen dioxide diffusion tubes. View the data for the nitrogen dioxide diffusion tubes
