Shared on behalf of the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government
Nominations are now open for The King’s Birthday 2026 Honours list.
Nominations can be made at any time, but they must be received by midnight on Friday 8 August 2025 if they are to be considered in the Birthday 2026 Honours round.
Each nomination must be accompanied by at least two letters of support,
The Honours system recognises people who have made outstanding achievements in public life, made life better for people in the UK or are exceptional in what they do.
Public support is crucial in ensuring talented individuals are identified and that their contribution is properly recognised and celebrated.
The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) is especially interested in receiving nominations for people who are working or volunteering in their community. They could be working with the homeless or in housing more widely, supporting community integration and interfaith work, or working in local government.
The MHCLG invite the public to nominate someone who is helping to meet their objectives in one of the following areas:
- Getting Britain Building: individuals working on planning and on building the homes that we need, ensuring buildings are safe, and those tackling homelessness.
- Bolstering Family Security: individuals working and volunteering to make their local communities resilient and safe for everyone, with people from different faiths and backgrounds able to integrate and contribute.
- Local Government and English Devolution: Individuals delivering exceptional local public services for communities and leading innovation and reform in local government to improve the lives of people across the country.
- Growth in every corner of the country: individuals working on growth, economic development and regeneration in every community.
- Individuals working to resettle people displaced by international insecurity, for example those from Ukraine, Afghanistan and Hong Kong.
