Our policies, plans and strategies - Local Development Scheme December 2017
|About this page||
The Local Development Scheme enables the local community to find out about planning policies for their area and sets out the timetable for the production of the new Local Plan, giving key production and public consultation stages as well as outlining the subject matter and the geographical extent. It also provides information on future Supplementary Planning Documents to be prepared.
Following the approval of a new timetable for the preparation of the Local Plan at the council’s Executive on 04 December 2017, the Local Development Scheme has been updated and is available below.
The Local Plan preparation timetable depends on council decisions, evidence gathering, and the outcome of discussions with partner organisations (including neighbouring local authorities and other local authorities within the Leicester and Leicestershire Housing Market Area). Following submission of the Local Plan to the Secretary of State, the dates set out are indicative and are subject to detailed arrangements by the Planning Inspectorate and decisions/recommendations made by the Inspector, including the need for and scope of any main modifications arising out of the Examination.
