Contracts and procurement
Many of the services that the council provides are delivered by other organisations (private companies or charities) under contract. We are committed to commissioning services that provide both value for money and consistently high quality. Read our Commissioning Strategy.
Contract and tender opportunities
We use the Delta eSourcing service to manage tenders and quotation procedures. Suppliers can register for free with this service to tender for contract opportunities.
We maintain a list of suppliers who are registered on the Delta eSourcing system and use this to identify providers when seeking quotations for smaller contracts. To be included on this list, please register on the Delta system and then request to be added to our contracts list.
We know that local suppliers are often not able to compete for every contract opportunity. We will therefore encourage providers that tender for large contracts to work with local businesses to increase the economic benefits for the district.
We commission many goods, works and services through framework agreements managed by national and regional organisations. These include:
Our commissioning procedures
Whenever work, goods, services or materials are obtained by or on behalf of the council, we must comply with the rules defined by the Statement of Required Practice for Procurement.
Procurement must also meet the requirements of UK law and European Union (EU) Procurement Regulations where applicable.
We publish a list of public contracts awarded by the Council
