Effective management of parking can contribute to a vibrant and sustainable local economy. Additionally, car parks are often the first impression visitors have of a place so it’s important that we get it right.

Harborough District Council is reviewing its car parking strategy to look at how the car parks are used and operated now and in the future.

We are now seeking views on whether our approach is right to meet the needs of residents, businesses and visitors to the district. 

We have looked at whether car parks are in the right places to meet need, whether we have the right approach to environmental opportunities in our car parks and whether the current tariff structures remain appropriate.
