£1m Community Grant Fund

The Community Grant Fund is a £1 million capital grant scheme for town and parish councils/meetings and community organisations in the Harborough district. The Fund is allocated between towns, large villages, medium villages, villages close to urban settlements and small/smaller villages across the Harborough district.  The Community Grant Fund will strengthen working relationships between the council and its parishes, towns and communities, enabling delivery of projects and initiatives at a local level across the district. Environmental Grant

The Environmental Grant Scheme encourages communities across the District to engage in capital projects which will have a positive and provable impact on the environment. The grant scheme is open to any constituted, 'not for profit' organisations. This may include, but is not limited to, village/community groups, community enterprises, registered charities, and town/parish councils. Applicants can apply for grants ranging from £5,000 - £20,000.

Councillors' Ward Improvement Grant

The Councillors' Ward Improvement Grant Scheme is available to groups and organisations in the Harborough district. Each ward member has been allocated £5,000 to support initiatives of their choice within their ward which benefit ward residents and/or improve the environment within the ward. Applications must be for values between £1k to £5k and grants must be paid to the organisation by 31 March 2026. Organisations must be constituted and have a bank account in the name of the organisation. Organisations must contact their ward councillor directly (Councillors) to discuss their project proposal.

Grant Surgeries and Webinars

We regularly run surgeries or webinars for Parish/Town Councils and community organisations interested in applying for the Community or Environmental Grant. These sessions give groups an opportunity to discuss potential projects, understand how to apply, what makes a good application and how to measure impact.
