Overgrown public land tidied by landownerPublished Tuesday 26 June 2018
Unsightly public land in Broughton Astley, which residents had raised concerns about, has now been tidied up by the landowner following intervention from the district council.
Harborough District Council wrote to the landowner, following a residents’ meeting in Broughton Astley, to seek an update on future maintenance of the land in Pinel Close and Machin Drive.
Deputy Leader of Harborough District Council, Cllr Phil King, who has responsibility for planning enforcement said: “We contacted the owner of this land to invite discussions about this public space and we are pleased he has promptly agreed to cut the grass and that this was carried out over the weekend. We will continue to liaise with the landowner regarding future maintenance of this site.”
