Local sponsor announced for Food & Drink Festival

Published Friday 20 July 2018

Thousands of food lovers are expected to flock to Welland Park in Market Harborough on Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th August 11am to 7pm for the 2018 Market Harborough Food and Drink Festival.

The two-day event, organised by Harborough District Council, will celebrate local, regional, national and International cuisine with stalls featuring everything from local artisan-produced cheese, meats and gourmet foods to mouth-watering Mexican street food, Flame grilled chicken and authentic Sicilian cannoli.

Cllr Neil Bannister, leader of Harborough District Council, said: “The Market Harborough Food & Drink Festival is a fabulous event for all the family, with a wide array of local, regional and national food and drink on offer, and all located in a wonderful setting. The festival gets bigger and better every year and we look forward to welcoming people of all ages to this superb free event.”

Alongside the wonderful line up of food stalls, there will also be some homeware and cookware stalls, a great licensed bar and a speciality gin bar, a kids play area and of course the chef’s demo kitchen.

This year the Demonstration Kitchen is being sponsored by the Market Harborough branch of travel agent Millington Travel.

Guy Fletcher, Sales Director for Millington Travel, said; “Millington Travel Market Harborough, is delighted to be sponsoring the demo kitchen at the Food and Drink Festival. It’s a great opportunity to be part of such a great community event and we hope that our regular clients come along and have a great day out at what promises to be a fantastic culinary weekend.”

For foodies looking to pick up some recipe tips, MasterChef finalist and former Le Gavroche chef Dan Graham, renowned Italian cook Carmela Hayes and local cookery tutor Margarita Pap will be showcasing their culinary skills and cooking up a treat in the demo kitchen. The hourly demonstrations will start at 11.30am each day with the last one at 3.30pm.

The Market Harborough Food and Drink festival is free to attend and will be open from 11am-7pm on Saturday 4th, and on Sunday 5th August 2018.
