Fancy dress time at market this Halloween

Harborough District Council is inviting children from across the district to dig out their fake blood, capes and costumes for the annual Halloween Fancy Dress Competition at Harborough Indoor Market.

The competition will take place in the market’s main hall on Saturday 27 October 2018 at 11am-12.45pm with winners announced at 1pm.

Harborough District Council Chairman, Cllr Lesley Bowles, will chair a panel of judges alongside wardrobe coordinator for Harborough Theatre, Jan Cross, and Barry Badger from Harborough FM.

Cllr Lesley Bowles said: “I’m really looking forward to judging the competition this year. It’s a great opportunity for children across the district to express their creativity, dress up and get into the spirit of Halloween.”

This year’s competition is open to two separate age groups, 0-6 years and 7-16 years, with prizes awarded to the winners of each group.

Jan from Harborough Theatre said: “It is a wonderful chance to see the younger generation of Harborough in costume – who knows, they might join the theatre one day!”

Harborough Market is open 8am to 5pm Tuesday to Saturday, and 10am to 4pm on Sunday for the popular Sunday Antiques Market.
