Harborough District Council was delighted to see the results of a school Christmas tree decoration contest launched at the Indoor Market on Northampton Road.
Children from St Joseph’s Catholic Voluntary Academy and Meadowdale Primary School were invited to submit handmade decorations to adorn the Christmas tree in the general hall at Harborough Market.
Winners were chosen and prizes handed out to children at St Joseph’s on Friday 14 December 2018 with Meadowdale Primary receiving their prizes on Thursday 20 December 2018.
Cllr Lesley Bowles, Chairman of Harborough District Council, who presented the winners with badges and books, congratulated the winners on their achievement, saying: “The children all did a fantastic job. The imagination and skill involved in creating some of the decorations was wonderful. Its great to see children taking part in community competitions such as this and we thank them for all of their hard work in making the market tree look so festive.”
The Christmas tree will be up at Harborough Market until Sunday 6 January 2019 for participants to spot their work.
