More than 50 key business representatives from the tourism sector are being specially invited by Harborough District Council to the beautiful surroundings of the Nevill Holt Opera House for the launch of the Visit Harborough website and guide on Friday 14 June 2019.

At the event Harborough District Council will unveil a new website, alongside a colourful guide, which highlights a wide variety of adventures to uncover whilst exploring the area.  The latter will be distributed across the district over the coming days.

The Council said it wants to maximise opportunities for tourism, as well as promote the District as a key destination to attract visitors from towns and cities outside of the district.

The website – www.visitharborough.com – will be available to view from the evening of Friday 14 June 2019 where people can find an events page, rainy day ideas and an interactive map to help navigate around the district.

People can also follow new account ‘Visit Harborough District’ on Twitter at @HarboroughVisit

Cllr James Hallam, Harborough District Council’s tourism lead, said: “Tourism brings over £125million into our local economy every year and provides over 1,700 full time jobs. That said; we believe there are opportunities to increase tourism by working with partners, the tourism and hospitality sector, and the public to showcase the fantastic assets Harborough district has to offer.”
