The Christmas lights switch on event is run by Market Harborough Building Society, who is once again kindly donating the tree for the Square.

The Christmas lights will be switched on from 5pm on Friday 22 November 2019 in the Square at Market Harborough.

Families are invited along to see the lights, visit Father Christmas in his grotto inside the Market Harborough Building Society branch and to enjoy some fantastic food and drink on the Square and Commons Car Park.

A Harborough District Council spokesman said: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with the Market Harborough Building Society and hope that the public come on out to support the switch on and the three-day Food and Drink Festival.”

The Winter Food and Drink Festival will feature a great bar, mulled wine, Mexican street food, olives, cheese, paella, jams, and churros and promises a great place to meet up with friends and family for some good eating.

Market Harborough retail group Harbs Collective are also joining in the festive fun by holding an ‘After Hours’ event in shops across the town, providing a perfect opportunity to start your Christmas shopping.

The Food and Drink Festival will be open on the Square and Commons Car Park from 5pm to 9pm on Friday 22 November, 11am to 9pm on Saturday 23 November and 11am to 5pm on Sunday 24 November 2019.
