Mobile testing unit to open in Lutterworth

A temporary Mobile Testing Unit (MTU) will be operating in Lutterworth in support of the COVID-19 National Testing Programme from 6 June 2020.

Testing is by appointment only. Appointments can be made through https://www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-getting-tested

coronavirusMobile units are only in a location for a few days. They have an integrated one-way system that allows people with an appointment to attend for either walk-in or drive through testing.

The eligibility criteria for tests have been extended to include:

  • Anyone aged over the age of 5 with symptoms

Essential workers will be given priority.

Cllr Amanda Nunn, Harborough District Council's health and well-being Cabinet lead, said: “I would encourage anyone who is exhibiting coronavirus symptoms, particularly key workers, to book an appointment and get tested. I am delighted that the Council, having worked with the NHS to help provide temporary testing facilities in Market Harborough recently, is now able to help provide a similar facility in Lutterworth.”
