Views sought on parish proposals

Published Thursday 1 October 2020

People are being invited to share their views on proposed changes to parish boundaries and arrangements in the Harborough district.

All parishes in the Harborough district are being reviewed by Harborough District Council as part of a Community Governance Review to ensure they continue to best meet the needs of the local community.

Existing parish councils and parish meetings have already been consulted along with other stakeholders including local residents, local community groups and organisations who have put forward their views and suggestions.   These have been considered and draft recommendations have been approved for further consultation.

The public consultation will run from 1 October to 30 November 2020.

Cllr Paul Dann, Harborough District Council’s Cabinet lead for Corporate & Regulatory Services, said: “It is important for local democracy that people have their say on these proposals which potentially impact on the decision-making process in their area, so I encourage people to take this opportunity to share their views.”

The changes proposed are:

Further information, including how you can submit comments on the proposals, is available on the Council’s website at www.harborough.gov.uk/cgr
