Grants for businesses which have had no funding during recent lockdowns

Published Friday 15 January 2021

Grants are being made available to businesses in the Harborough district which have NOT received any financial support during the Covid-19 restrictions in November and December 2020.

National and local grants were available in November and December 2020 to aid businesses which were forced to close during the previous Covid-19 lockdown; however, the Government and Council recognise that some businesses were not eligible for this funding.

GrantsThis latest Additional Restrictions Grant (ARG) Local Top-Up grants are specifically open to businesses that have been severely affected by the local restrictions, but which have not received any grants for the period between 5 November 2020 to 30 December 2020.

Please note that, any businesses which have already received any funding for that period are not eligible to apply.

Cllr Phil King, Leader of Harborough District Council, said: “This is a hugely challenging time and I welcome this extra support for local businesses which have not previously received any grants.”

Applications for the top-up grant will close on Wednesday 27 January 2021, and applicants should apply via www.grantapproval.co.uk

Once businesses have registered on the system, please select ‘Harborough’ as your local authority and then the ‘ARG Top Up Grant (round 1).’

All applications will be reviewed after the closing date, so businesses are asked to be patient during this time and it is anticipated that funding allocations will be announced in early February.

Businesses may have heard about new Government funding, including Government Top Up grants. However, these are not available yet, and Harborough District Council is expecting guidance on these and how they will be distributed over the coming weeks.
