Public inquiry dates announced for proposed prison at GartreePublished Friday 24 June 2022
The Planning Inspectorate has confirmed a public inquiry will be held to decide the Ministry of Justice’s planning appeal to build a new prison at Gartree.
In April 2022, Harborough District Council’s planning committee unanimously refused the application; an appeal from the Ministry of Justice against the decision was received this month.
The public inquiry will be held at the Harborough District Council offices, in Adam and Eve Street, Market Harborough, starting on Tuesday 4 October and continuing 5, 6, 7 and 10 October 2022.
The public, or other interested parties, can attend the inquiry.
The Council will forward all public and consultants’ comments, previously made on the planning application, to the Inspectorate.
New representations should be sent directly to The Planning Inspectorate at Room 3/26, Temple Quay House, 2 The Square, Temple Quay, Bristol BS1 6PN or online at https://acp.planninginspectorate.gov.uk quoting appeal reference APP/F2415/W/22/3300227.
The Inspectorate asks that all representations must be received five weeks from the appeal start date (22 June 2022) and must quote the appeal reference.
