Council to consider strategic collaboration
Published Thursday 6 October 2022Earlier this year, Council agreed to look for a suitable partner for Harborough District Council to work with strategically.
The Interim Chief Executive and the Leader of Harborough District Council have concluded that Melton Borough Council is the best strategic fit.
Harborough District Council has been working closely with Melton Borough Council on a range of initiatives and we already collaborate in a number of service areas including Lifeline monitoring, out of hours support and parking enforcement.
A report to set out our intention to explore this opportunity with Melton Borough Council and to develop a business case will be taken to the next Cabinet meeting on 10 October. If agreed, that business case report will then be considered at our Council meeting in December. Melton Borough Council is planning to take a similar report to their Cabinet meeting on 12 October.
