Explore opportunities and get careers advice during Harborough Jobs WeekPublished Thursday 11 May 2023
Job seekers in Harborough district will once again be able to explore a wide range of opportunities this month.
Harborough District Council has organised its annual Jobs Week, from Monday 15 May to Friday 19 May 2023, to support residents who are looking to find employment or improve their skills.
On Tuesday 16 May, job hunters will have a chance to develop their interview skills in workshops happening at the council’s Symington Building. Delivered by the National Careers Service, attendees will learn how to present themselves better by exploring possible questions and answers, how to highlight strengths, and what to ask employers.
There are two sessions times available: 10.30-11.45am and 12.30-1.45pm.
Voluntary Action Leicester (VAL) will be at the Wycliffe Rooms in Lutterworth on Tuesday 16 May, 1-3pm, to promote their work around volunteering and the Multiply Project in Lutterworth and Blaby to support adults around improving their numeracy skills.
Later in the week, a Job Fair will take place on Thursday 18 May, at the Symington Building in Market Harborough, where people can speak directly with employers about what roles are available, with the chance to secure an interview. Drop-in anytime between 11am-2pm.
Employers can also get support by attending the ‘Business in the Spotlight: Jobs Week Special event’ at the Harborough Innovation Centre, on Friday 19 May, 10am-noon. This networking event will highlight the range of free recruitment support available through the local job centre. Employers will also have the chance to learn how they can become a Disability Confident employer and the benefits of doing so.
There will also be a range of resources shared across the week on the council’s social media channels and the Invest in Harborough website at: www.investinharborough.com/jobsweek
