Future looks good. Right time to plan forward is now

The CEO of the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Integrated Care Board (ICB) Andy Williams has been in Harborough for what has been described as “a forward facing, positive meeting striving to plan for the future.”

Mr Williams told attendees that the services are on a very sound footing, positively looking forward and looking to engage in order to plan for what the community will need for the future as the district continues to grow and pressures on the NHS increase.

The meeting was hosted by Harborough District Council and Chaired by Council Leader Cllr Phil Knowles. Cllr Knowles described the meeting as “informative, reassuring and a clear indication that the NHS is both keen and determined to build on the base we have at St Luke’s, the GP surgeries and more.  It will be progressing to wide-spread community and stakeholder meetings where we can be sure we know exactly what the community needs will be.  The District Council is in the position to take a real and meaningful lead in this important process”

There will be widespread sharing of information.

Also in attendance at the meeting were Neil O'Brien MP, County Councillor Barry Champion, District Councillor Simon Whelband, along with a range of key health professionals and officers from Harborough District Council.

Speaking after the meeting Cllr Knowles said “Details of dates of follow on meetings, public engagements and public meeting will publicised but these will be rightly governed by the timelines that Andy Williams and his team determine. From there we can share accordingly."
