This week (week commencing 30 October 2023) the leader of Harborough District Council will attend the first of a series of meetings with individual Parish Councils and Parish Meetings in the district.

Leader of Harborough District Council, Cllr Phil Knowles, wishes to engage with Parish Councils and Meetings, meet communities, and hear about the good work that parishes are doing. He also wants to listen to any issues of concern that communities have, with the aim of supporting parishes where possible within the council’s remit and resources.

The first of the Parish Council meetings that Cllr Knowles will attend in his capacity as council leader will be the open meeting of Scraptoft Parish Council on Wednesday 1 November 2023. He will be accompanied by Cllr Galton, cabinet lead for planning.

Cllr Knowles said: “Parish Councils and Parish Meetings have a crucial role to play in representing and serving their communities. I am really keen to meet with as many parishes in our district as possible to find out more about the excellent initiatives that they have in place and hear about concerns of district residents and communities on a very local level. I hope to see many members of the community at the Scraptoft Parish Council meeting.”
