The signs have been commissioned by Harborough District Council and not only complement the gateway to the gardens but also improve the overall accessibility and visibility of this cherished community space.

This project is part of the council’s aspirations to foster community engagement and preserve the town’s heritage. It received just over £1,930 from the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Cllr Phil Knowles, Leader of Harborough District Council and Cabinet lead for Culture, Leisure, Economy, and Tourism, said: “This installation represents a key milestone in the Market Harborough Town Centre Masterplan, reinforcing our commitment to preserving and promoting the historical significance of the Memorial Gardens.”

The council has scheduled additional improvements to the Memorial Gardens in 2024.
