Take your business to the next level with council-supported scheme

Small and medium-sized businesses in the Harborough district are urged to take advantage of a government-funded scheme designed to boost leadership acumen and business expansion in 2024.

The Help to Grow: Management course from De Montfort University’s Leicester Castle Business School (LCBS) runs for 12 weeks from 12 March 2024. The programme is 90% funded by the government and 10% through a bursary from LCBS.

There are 12 modules in total with eight delivered online and four in person sessions at Harborough District Council’s Harborough Innovation Centre in Market Harborough. This innovative initiative is delivered by expert tutors with real world business experience and is designed to fit in alongside full-time work.

Participants can anticipate a curriculum encompassing vital modules such as strategy and innovation, digital transformation, winning new markets, vision, mission, and values, among others.

To qualify for the Help to Grow: Management programme, businesses must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a small or medium-sized enterprise (SME) based in the UK
  • Have at least five members of staff and no more than 249
  • Been operating for at least one year
  • Not operate as a charity - (Community Interest Companies are eligible).

Candidates must fulfil the following individual criteria:

  • Be a member of the management or leadership team
  • Supervise at least one member of staff
  • Demonstrate commitment to attending all sessions.
