Despite the weather last year, the Saturday night spectacular still proved a success with lots of people gathering to help us light up the town for Christmas.

Following that success, the festivities will once again take place on the Saturday evening from 5pm, with the light switch on itself to take place at 6.30pm. The Christmas tree, which is sponsored by Market Harborough Building Society, will be lit up on the night providing The Square with a bright festive feature for visitors to admire during all hours of the day.

Clive Mason, Director for Resources and Section 151 Officer said: “The Christmas Lights Switch on is always a brilliant start to the festive season. Once again, a fun filled evening has been planned with opportunities to support our local businesses too. I hope you will join us to light up Market Harborough for the festive season.”

The Christmas festivities continue with lots of exciting events happening across the district including late night shopping and the best festive window competition which is voted for by the public. Throughout the festive season, the regular Artisan Fairs and Farmers’ Markets will also continue on The Square giving people the opportunity to support local businesses in the district.
