Statement – death of Cllr David Gair
Published Thursday 16 April 2026Everyone at Harborough District Council is saddened to hear that Cllr David Gair has passed away.
Cllr Gair was passionate about representing his community, having been a long-standing member of Lutterworth Town Council before joining Harborough District Council as a councillor for Lutterworth East since 2023.
Prior to joining Harborough District Council, he served as a town council representative on the Standards Committee, and following his election, was appointed chair of the Audit and Standards Committee as well as serving on the Planning Committee.
John Richardson, Chief Executive of Harborough District Council, said: "Cllr Gair quickly became a highly respected member of the council following his election in 2023. As officers, we respected his passion for the community and his support as chair of the Audit and Standards Committee. We send our deepest condolences to David’s family and friends at this very sad time.”
Details of tributes and funeral arrangements will be confirmed in line with the family’s wishes at a later date.
