Countdown to Arts Fresco festival

Published Thursday 25 August 2016

People can expect some thrilling sights and sounds on the streets of Market Harborough when the international street theatre festival Arts Fresco returns to the town on Sunday 18 September 2016.

Arts Fresco is one of the largest, free street theatre festivals in the UK and an array of popular UK and international performers will transform the streets of Market Harborough at this year’s event.

For the first time this year, visitors to the Festival will have the opportunity to vote for their favourite performer via the Arts Fresco website and on social media. The winning act will be presented with their award at a special ceremony to be held in the town after the Festival.

Performers at this year’s Festival will include explosive street theatre with Bängditos from Germany, a spectacular show for a two-member audience with the Grand Theatre of Lemmings – The Smallest Theatre in the World, highly energised physical comedy performances with Garaghty and Thom and many more.

A children’s village, supported by the Market Harborough Building Society, will feature circus workshops, entertainment and more.

Nina Thomas from the Arts Fresco Organising Committee said: “We’re really looking forward to presenting this year’s performers. There are some fantastic acts that will entertain and excite visitors. We can’t wait to see which one is your favourite when it comes to voting time!”
