Advice is being offered help groups or individuals apply for funding for projects tackling vulnerability and promoting health and well-being.

Harborough District Council is encouraging people to book a place at a Community Grant Fund surgery at The Symington Building in Market Harborough on Monday 7 November 2016 from 9am to 2pm.

It will be an opportunity for people to talk through project ideas and understand what information is required to encourage a successful application.

Projects are eligible for funding if they:

  • Improve community safety
  • Increase physical activity
  • Support older people
  • Encourage positive mental health
  • Promote healthy lifestyles

The deadline to apply for funding is Thursday 18 November 2016.

Councillor Michael Rickman, who has responsibility for grants at Harborough District Council, said “Ensuring the grant fund continued this year was a priority and we are expecting a high number of applications as in previous years. The grants surgery will offer useful advice to help people with applications.”
